"There will be a day"

I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end,
His word declares this truth, that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew
But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering

(Chorus)
There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we'll see Jesus face to face But until that day, we'll hold on to you always
I know the journey seems so long
You feel you’re walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone
(Chorus)
Troubled soul don’t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that’s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting
I can’t wait until that day
where the very one I’ve lived for always
will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery
this is why this is why I sing
(Chorus)
By Jeremy Camp
This song was played at my grandmother's funeral. Before that week, I really had not heard of this song. It is a special song for many reasons now.
One day....

19 months...

today.
19 months we have missed. gone. forever.

Be thankful for each moment with your children. Even when there are things you might not really want to do, or you are too tired to do, or you get tired of doing. Just be thankful you have them HERE and YOU are the one doing it for them.

New court date is set for February 9th.

(new post on family blog for those who are interested)

cancelled.

well, some of you know... they cancelled the court appt we have had for over two month on tuesday. we do not have a new date as of yet.

tuesday was a hard day. when you go over a year with no forward progress in your case, other than a rectified birth certificate, you so want things to move in some kind of direction. for a reason... it was cancelled. once again, it is out of anyone's control hear on earth.

thank you all for praying. we will let you know when we have a new date.

Tomorrow....

if only he could give me that look right about now...

God says do not worry about tomorrow... well that is kind of hard to do at this point. Most of you know we have a court date set for sometime tomorrow in Guatemala. Our lawyer will represent us and Nathan. The judge will decide, based on evidence, if Nathan is still adoptable according to all the findings in our case. If the ruling is that our case will go forth as an abandonment, we will still be on this journey... what that will intell... who knows. Guatemala does not really have a plan in place as to what they are going to do with these type cases.

With all that said, we need your prayers. Nathan needs your prayers. Tomorrow is a big day with our case, but also the next months will be big depending on how the Guatemala authorities decide to move forward with the case. There are so many unknowns.... so many questions. We will probably never get them all answered. But God knows. His plans are perfect. I am reminded of that daily and I tell myself everyday.... God is in control. I am His and Nathan belongs to Him, not us. It is not easy. I want nothing more, NOTHING, but for Nathan to be home- yesterday. But that is not the perfect plan.... we just wait, continue to pray, seek His face, hope, trust, and pray some more. Once again, it is NOT easy. If it was, I would not be tipping the scale of "crazy";)

Thank you all who want to follow us and pray with us and for us on this journey. Where and when will it end? That is for God to know and for us to hopefully and eventually find out:).

cutest ever...

Oh my!! So much personality!!! I miss this soooo much!!! Words can not describe.....

I know I do not say much about our case... there is much to say and not much to say. Really "they" do not know what to do with it and we do not know what is going to happen and have no earthly clue as to a timeline..... nada!

We do have a court date coming up on the 20th (Tuesday). Just pray that things will go in our favor to continue the case so that we will still have a chance to become a family. Only God knows the plans for Nathan and us. All we can do is trust and continue to wait.

We love you sweet boy and will never give up on you... never!

Hope...

HOPE...

That is the theme of 09 for our church.
Coincidence? hardly.

"Hope is not a wish, it is not hoping for something good to happen in the future."
Our hope can only be placed in Jesus.

2008...2009

I have started to post a few time on my thoughts about this past year.... but I just can't really put them into words right now.

Here is our boy.... He is getting so big. We have missed so much of his little life and we continue to. I feel like I do not even know who he is anymore.

Where did 2008 get us? Not with our son... but, WOW, did we learn so much this past year through this extremely long journey...

Where will 2009 get us? This is the BIG question. My motto these days is "One day at a time". My prayer is that we will have resolution with our case sooner than later. This journey has been going long enough. We are tired...

We even missed something as small as his "first sucker"
