Nathan's First Care Package!

We are preparing to send Nathan's first package to him. We have bought him a mobile which we hope will encourage lots of good developement! It is very bright and colorful and sings Rain Forest Sounds, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. We are also sending some cute and WARM clothes. It starts getting cold down there at night soon and the orphanage does not have heaters from what we hear, so we have boought lots of warm outfits, socks and fleece blankets! We are sending this stuff with another family who is going on a visit trip the middle of August.

We also puchased a disposable camera and camcorder that we hope to get back so we will have pictures and video of Nathan before we even get to meet him in person- HOW NEAT!!!

We hope to get an update of Nathan's health with new pictures in the next week or so and hopefully we will here something soon about the DNA test. Please continue to pray that the birth mother has a peace about her decision and cooperates with Pedro, the lawyer and the social worker so that they get all the information they need to complete this part of the process.

Thank you for faithfully praying for us and our son, Nathan. We feel your prayers. Pray that Nathan stays healthy and happy each and everyday and continues to grow! Also pray for his nannies who care for him. Pray that God will bless them when they are with him.

Nathan Lee Allums

We got the call on Friday the 13th, who said that is an unlucky day! We now have the referral of our son, Nathan Lee, Nathan meaning "gift from God"and Lee is Casey's middle name. He was born Juen 24th, 2007. He is a healthy baby and now weighs 6lbs 14 oz and is 21in long. He is a tiny little fellow! He has a head full of dark hair of coarse and is precious! We are very excited and are extremely anxious. We may share pictures on the blog at a later time once the process progresses.

Please pray for Nathan as he is taken care of at the orphanage by some wonderful people. Pray that he stays healthy and does not develop any health problems. Please join us in beginning to pray that God will start preparing him for when we bring him home and the huge transition he will have to go through.

We have officially started the process on the Guatemala side. We are thankful the we were assigned the same lawyer that we had the with the last referral. The first thing that will be done is the DNA with the birthmother. It should be completed within 6 weeks. Pray that she shows up for the test and interview with the social worker and all goes smooth.

We are still looking at about anywhere from 6-8 months from now before we travel to pick him up to bring him home. Pray that we will be able to wait patiently during this time as we watch Nathan grow through a computer screen. We know this is all in God's perfect plan and we trust in Him and He is good all the time.

Thank you for your prayers and support during this whole process. I can not believe God has brought us this far, but He is God! We have prayed so long for this child it is hard to believe we can actually see his face- WOW! It is still so unreal.

God's Plan is still perfect....

Well, we have not heard anything yet, but it could be any day now. It does not seem like it has been a month since we received the call of our first referral.

We know this happened for a reason because God's plan is perfect. We feel blessed to have experienced this even though it was such a major disappointment in our lives. We now know a precious baby boy by the name of Mauro Jose who we can now pray for each and everyday. We also have pictures of his sweet, beautiful face that we will treasure forever. Please join us in praying for Mauro and his family that God will provide for their needs so that they can stay a family.


Thank you all for the love and support you have shown us during this time. We have definitely felt the love and prayers! Please continue to pray for the child God has so perfectly chosen for us. Pray God's protection on him wherever he may be at this time.
